How do I choose the pharmacy?
Use the pharmacy selection in the existing form. Check the name and location so that you do not select another branch with a similar name. Where the form allows a pharmacy email to be entered, verify it with the pharmacy rather than guessing the address.
- Is this the branch you intend to use?
- Are the pharmacy contact details correct?
- Are your own contact details correct for updates or questions?
What happens after the doctor’s decision?
A registered South African medical doctor independently assesses your request. If the prescription is approved, FM Med sends it directly to your chosen pharmacy. You can then check receipt and collection arrangements with that pharmacy.
The online request is not an order for medication, and sending a prescription does not confirm medicine availability or collection timing. Those practical questions belong with the pharmacy.
What if I selected the wrong branch or cannot find the prescription?
Contact FM Med support with your query and the pharmacy details you intended to use. Do not submit another paid request simply to try a different branch. Check with the selected pharmacy whether it has received the prescription before assuming delivery has failed.
Email support@fmmed.co.za for help with the service. Do not send passwords or payment-card details.
Which form should I use?
For qualifying stable chronic treatment, start with the R258 renewal form. For a new symptom, concern or fuller assessment, use the R320 online consultation form. Pharmacy selection does not determine clinical eligibility, and Schedule 6 medication remains excluded.
Important service limitations
Every request is independently reviewed by a registered South African medical doctor. Submission and payment do not guarantee that a prescription will be issued. Schedule 6 medication is excluded from the online service.
FM Med is not an emergency service. Requests needing examination, urgent treatment or in-person assessment must be redirected to appropriate care. Do not wait for an online response if urgent care is needed.
Choose the appropriate next step
FM Med’s online services are available throughout South Africa. Use the prescription-renewal form — R258 for qualifying stable chronic treatment. For a new symptom, new concern or fuller assessment, use the online consultation form — R320.
Approved prescriptions are sent directly to your selected pharmacy. Read the existing patient FAQ and terms and conditions. You must personally check the application, confirm the declaration and submit the request.
